At yesterday's local elections, Nuneaton and Bedworth Conservatives retained control of the Town Hall for the first time ever and increased our majority with 27 seats.
Having taken control from Labour a year ago, we have run on a campaign of listening to local residents and delivering what we promised in our manifesto last year.
Undoing the damage to our town after 45 years of Labour control in our Borough, Conservatives can now continue the job of turning our town around and delivering for local residents.
Cllr Kris Wilson, Leader of the Council, said:
These are tremendous results for us and I want to thank everyone who voted for us in these elections. We take the trust that you place in us very seriously and will continue to work hard on improving our town after years of decline under Labour.
We have a strong record of delivery - supporting our town centres, parking of £1.50 for 3 hours and beginning the review of the Borough Plan to name a few - and we look forward to continuing the job of transforming our town so that residents can have pride in Nuneaton once again.
The successful candidates in this election were:
- Attleborough - Cllr Colin Cape
- Arbury - Cllr Michael Green
- Barpool - Cllr Jamie Hartshorn
- Galley Common - Cllr Sam Croft
- St Nicolas - Cllr Rob Tromans
- Whitestone - Cllr Kris Wilson
