Residents in the Arbury Ward are being asked to get involved in the design of a new neighbourhood that will consist of 1525 dwellings and covering approx. 86 hectares of land.
The area, known as HSG2, is part of the Borough Plan and the Design Guide will provide a set of guidelines that developers will have to follow when they bring forward a planning application. This will also help the new estate fit in with the existing Arbury community.
Important qualities, such as street character, building type, and appearance together with environment and heritage can be influenced by the Design Guide. Residents of Arbury will be able to have a direct input into this new plan.
Cllr Richard Smith, Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration, said:
“Please take part in this consultation. We want to ensure that we get the views of local residents on what this new upcoming development should look like.
“Help us shape the character of the buildings and streets to ensure they meet with the style of the local area and reflect what local people want.”
