A long-term commitment from the Conservatives has been delivered, with a new Animal Warden in post at Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.
Most support is around the safe and appropriate conduct of dogs. The new warden will cover the Dog Control Orders, dog fouling, dogs off leads, stray dogs, lost dog and dangerous dogs.
Cllr Julian Gutteridge, Portfolio Holder for Health and Environment, welcomed the appointment:
“I am delighted our new animal warden is in post and ready to provide our community with the support it needs.
“The vast majority of dog owners are considerate and responsible, not only for their pet's well-being but also for the impact on other residents and visitors to the Borough.
“But we have a range of measures available to take action where we believe animals are not being cared for appropriately, or dogs are not being supervised properly to help keep everyone safe. We need people to be our eyes and ears to help this happen, and Louisa will be on hand to help.”
