Sales of cars by the side of the road are common sights across many areas of Nuneaton and Bedworth, including Lutterworth Road, Eastboro Way, Bulkington Lane, Gipsy Lane and Camp Hill Road to name a few, the new controlling Conservatives are taking action to deal with the anti-social nuisance that these cause.
The consultation will last from 16 July 2021 to 6 August 2021 and you can have your say here.
Launching the consultation Leader of the Council, Cllr Kris Wilson, said:
"Over the years I have been a councillor I have had numerous complaints about the sale of cars by the roadside. Indeed, there have been accidents involving these cars and the owners have been seen deliberately vandalising trees and shrubbery so their cars can be seen.
"This behaviour is unacceptable and we need to use the tools at our disposal to discourage this nuisance activity. Quite often it is the same people who claim that they are just doing it for a hobby, but actually running it as a business but not paying their dues or giving the usual legal protections to buyers as you would get from a proper dealer.
"I would encourage residents to get involved and have their say."
