With both Nuneaton and Bedworth having major regeneration over the coming years, and the need to help our town centres get through Covid, local Conservatives have established Town Centre Forum meetings with a long-term aim of a proper partnership to build relationships with businesses and traders.
As well as highlighting the exiting plans for Transforming Nuneaton and Bedworth, there will be an opportunity for businesses and traders to have their say, explain their challenges and work together on how we build a better future for our towns.
Six meetings have been set up which will include the new Leader of the Council, Cllr Kris Wilson, and council officers across different sectors of business:
- Tuesday 6 July – Independent Retail
- Tuesday 13 July – National Retail
- Tuesday 3 August – Hospitality / Night-time economy & Leisure
- Wednesday 4 August – Commercial / Professional (solicitors, estate agents, accountants etc)
- Tuesday 10 August – Market Traders Steering Group
- Wednesday 11 August – Landlords
Council Leader Cllr Kris Wilson said:
“The new administration is keen to support, and be accessible to, the wide range of businesses across the Borough. As a starting point, we want to engage with business within the town centres to understand how we can improve the ways we are already working together to improve our towns.
“Eventually, we hope this will cement a brand new towns partnership through which we can make sure we listen to businesses about the barriers they face, as well as working with as many people as possible on the fresh ideas that are open to us.”
