With the receipt of top-up money from the Conservative Government for the Additional Restrictions Grant, Conservatives at the Town Hall have followed from on an election promise to bring forward a Shop Front Improvement Scheme.
The scheme will be available to existing freehold or leasehold owners of independent businesses. The grant will cover up to 100% of the eligible costs to a maximum of £1500 for the improvement of ground or upper floors, and for hospitality businesses improvements to the outside space.
Cllr Kris Wilson, Leader of the Council, welcomed the launch of the scheme:
“This is a great scheme to help local business improve their shop fronts or outside space. Business owners or tenants, I urge you to get in touch to see if you are eligible.
"This is yet another example of this new Conservative administration helping businesses through the Covid recovery.”
Grants are subject to appropriate lease and license checks as well as other terms and conditions. See the Council webpage here for more information or to make an application.
