The Town Hall will be lit up on 24 August 2022 to commemorate Ukraine's Independence Day and show our support for the ongoing struggle of the Ukrainian people.
Lighting up with their national colours of yellow and blue, we will mark 6 months since the invasion by Russia and 31 years since Ukraine gained independence from the old Soviet Union.
Cllr Kris Wilson, Leader of the Council, said:
I am proud that Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is honouring Ukrainian Independence Day. We are reminded every day about their valiant struggle against their Russian invaders, and that the price of democracy and peace is always a high one.
We stand with our Ukrainian friends in commemorating their national day and in solidarity with their continuing fight for freedom.
