Even though due to Covid restrictions we cannot hold a full event, local Conservatives have raised the flag at the Town Hall to commemorate Armed Forces Day.
Given the strong ties that our town has with the Army, with Bramcote Barracks just down the road, Cllr Sam Croft (Portfolio Holder for Finance and Corporate Affairs) said:
“We have a fantastic military heritage in the borough and the Armed Forces Day flag will be proudly flying on top of the Town Hall as a mark of respect for all those dedicated individuals who have served our country so bravely.
“While it is regrettable that our usual borough events will not be able to take place due to the current restrictions, I am glad that we can still mark the day in this way, and I hope you will be able to get involved in other ways to show your support.”
